Partners IN Food and Farming seeks five dedicated souls to volunteer to help launch this organization. We need people with passion as well as skills to help with tasks large and small. PIFF is a new and small organization and so the board’s work will be both broad and deep. Board members will tackle “governing” tasks like filing IRS paperwork, reviewing policies, procedures, and strategic plans, and hiring our third co-director.  The board will also tackle “working board” tasks such as making connections, helping with fundraising, and executing projects. This is an active leadership role and we are seeking members ready to bring their A game!

Are you looking to diversify your sales and help feed fellow Food Insecure Hoosiers at the same time?

Fresh Connect Central has been working in conjunction with Legita Wilson from the Indiana Department of Health and Emily Buice from the Indiana Department of Agriculture to help food banks source local foods through the Local Food Purchase Assistance Cooperative Agreement Program (LFPA)  Grant Opportunity through one of its two tracks (one is specific to food bank sourcing only and one is a local regional access approach). Fresh Connect Central is a nonprofit agri-food cooperative subsidiary of Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana that sources and distributes fresh produce, dairy, and protein to food banks within the Feeding America Network.

The Seymour Area Farmers Market seeks vegetable vendors for their year-round farmers market in southern Indiana. Vendors can choose to participate for spring, summer, fall, and/or winter. Several vendors have retired recently, leaving a gap in the market. We have a tried and true customer base, a dedicated market committee, and a steady group of other vendors including food truck, beef, pork, lamb, chicken, eggs, melons, hydroponic greens, sourdough, baked goods, and more. The Horticulture Crops Research Manager will provide expertise and assistance to faculty and graduate students in the Departments of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture, Botany and Plant Pathology and Entomology and other departments within the College of Agriculture. Overall management of field operations including implementing and maintaining applied field research trials related to fruit, vegetable and specialty crops at the Samuel Meigs Horticulture Facility located within the Throckmorton Purdue Ag Center. You will be responsible for interpreting research protocols, assisting with trial design and installation, managing yearly field research rotations and making and implementing disease and pest management practices.

We are passionate about growing and connecting our local food community to improve the health, equity, sustainability and prosperity of our region. 


We are hiring a full-time Director of Local Food Coordination and Outreach. This individual will serve as a Value Chain Professional dedicated to creating market connections between farmers and businesses in the food supply chain across the 11 county Northeast Indiana region.  This person will be an active partner in the expanding Indiana Value Chain Network.

The Director of Local Food Coordination & Outreach will also help to guide and lead the programs, projects, and strategic growth of the Northeast Indiana Local Food Network.

The IU Campus Farm grows a wide variety of vegetables that are distributed to IU dining, through a CSA share program, and at a weekly farmstand. The farm also hosts classes, as well as the general public, for tours, service-learning, and events. The field manager will work closely with the farm manager and be responsible for supervising the field crew, volunteers, and visitors. The field manager will learn how to perform all tasks on the farm and be able to effectively direct others to complete tasks. The field manager must be reliable and punctual. This is a seasonal position with 20-29 working hours/week required from 4/1- 11/1/2022.

Besides selling Ostrich chicks, we also sell ostrich, Rhea, peacocks, and Emu hatching eggs for those of you that want to incubate and hatch your own ostriches on your farm. Ostrich and emu hatching eggs for sale are of the highest quality!
