 My name is Isis Eynon and I am managing the purchasing for the LFPA Track 1 grant. I wanted to share with you that LFPA Track 1 Farmer and Producer Registration is now live! We will be accepting applications from today, 12/12/22 through 1/31/23. Once the application window closes, I will reach out to prospective parties to discuss specifics of next steps, distribution and MOUs (memorandum of understanding). Please find the application here: https://www.freshconnectcentral.org/lfpa The Local Food Purchase Assistance Cooperative Agreement Program (LFPA) Track 1 is a USDA program designed to strengthen our local and regional food system and ensure distribution of fresh and nourishing foods to neighbors in identified underserved communities. In addition to increasing local food access, grant funding to the Fresh Connect Central cooperative – consisting of all food banks serving Indiana and their distribution networks – this will help build and expand economic opportunity for local and socially disadvantaged producers... ...(those subject to discrimination on the basis of age, race, color, sex, national origin, disability, or religion). We will be purchasing all products from socially disadvantaged producers at market rates and connecting these producers with the Indiana Food Bank in their area to establish long-term relationships that extend past the grant period. Please note, ONLY socially disadvantaged producers are qualified to participate in this particular project. Thank you very much for understanding.
