![]() Partners IN Food and Farming seeks five dedicated souls to volunteer to help launch this organization. We need people with passion as well as skills to help with tasks large and small. PIFF is a new and small organization and so the board’s work will be both broad and deep. Board members will tackle “governing” tasks like filing IRS paperwork, reviewing policies, procedures, and strategic plans, and hiring our third co-director. The board will also tackle “working board” tasks such as making connections, helping with fundraising, and executing projects. This is an active leadership role and we are seeking members ready to bring their A game! Position: The Board will support and be heavily involved in the creation of PIFF. While day-to-day operations are led by PIFF’s leadership team of co-directors, the Board-Director relationship is a partnership, and the active involvement of the Board is both critical and expected.
Commitment: We are looking for 5 members of the Hoosier food and farming community who can commit to a one year term to get PIFF up and running. Once this term is complete, Founding Board members are free to apply to serve a second term as a regular Board Member. An in-person retreat will be held to start our work together and then Board meetings will take place via zoom on a bi-monthly basis. Full Job Description here. More about Partners IN Food and Farming: We are building a statewide nonprofit organization(Partners IN Food and Farming) to bring together a coalition of farmers and food and farming organizations to strengthen the food system in Indiana. Through focused collaboration, we will provide Indiana farmers with a variety of educational, networking, mentoring, and financial opportunities that will improve the financial viability, sense of community, and ability to pursue their farming visions. Partners IN Food and Farming (PIFF) is also working closely with food system advocates like food councils, food hubs, nonprofits who work on food access, community gardens, farmers markets, chefs, institutions who buy local food, universities, and others.
