Hello, I am Soleil Decher-Morley, an anthropology student at DePauw University conducting research for my senior thesis concerning the ways in which women, nonbinary, transgender, genderqueer, and/ or genderfluid farmers in rural areas of Indiana cultivate and sustain their communities and environments through various forms of ecologically conscious agricultural practices; including organic, regenerative and/or sustainable agriculture. I am searching for participants for my research. In order to participate in this research participants must: self-identify as woman, transgender, nonbinary, genderqueer, and/or genderfluid, engage in sustainable, regenerative, and/or organic agricultural practices, and live local to rural Indiana. Each participant will be asked to participate in one formal interview lasting roughly 15-30 minutes long, though interviews can be as short or as long as participants are willing to be interviewed. If participants do not want to participate in a formal interview, they have the option of engaging in an informal conversation that would take place during a walking tour of their property or while I, the researcher, provide them assistance in agricultural work.
If you are interested in participating in this research, know anyone who would potentially be interested, or would like further information, I can be contacted by email at [email protected] or by phone at 317-840-4714. My faculty advisor Angela N. Castañeda can also be contacted with further questions and interest by email at [email protected] and phone at 765-658-4372. Sincerely, Soleil Decher-Morley (she/they) DePauw University Class of 2022 Anthropology Department Comments are closed.
